Inbound personnel scheduled for a dormitory are not authorized TLA.
Contact your First Sergeant and Unaccompanied Housing Office (UHO) to get a hospitality room. Unaccompanied First Term Airmen will stay in a dormitory, and arrangements MUST be made 14 days before arrival.
If your sponsor has not yet arranged a dorm room for you, or if you would like to confirm the arrangements, please contact the UHO for details.
Due to COVID-19, incoming members may undergo quarantine and Restriction of Movement. Please read the Commanders Directives for specific rules and guidelines.
CONUS Temporary Lodging Expense (TLE) reimburses stateside DoD members for up to 5 nights of lodging and meals in government quarters prior to departing for the U.K.
Temporary Lodging Facility (TLF) and Visiting Quarters:
The Gateway Inn has 174 unit Visiting Quarters (VQ) facilities. The facility is currently comprised of 11 business suites and 60 temporary lodging facilities.
The TLF rooms have a living room area, fully equipped kitchen, a small laundry area, TV and DVD players, and Wi-Fi access.
The VQs have a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, TV, iron, and hairdryer.
TLA reimburses Airmen for overseas government lodging and meals in 10-night increments. Temporary Quarters Subsidy Allowance (TQSA) reimburses civilians for overseas government lodging and meals in 30-night increments.
Active Duty – 30 days inbound and 10 days outbound. Extension is possible in 7-day increments on a space-available basis.
Civilian – 90 days inbound and 30 days outbound (make reservations in 30 day increments inbound and may request extension if more than 90 days is needed). Contact Civilian Personnel Office for more information.
Who: DoD member, sponsor, or spouse can reserve a room. Credit card info is needed to confirm reservation.
How: To request a room, email the Gateway Inn or call. Please provide the DoD member’s name, arrival date, how many family members, ages and number of children (if any), pets (if any), and contact info.
When: Make reservations up to 6 months in advance without PCS orders (Orders are needed at check-in).
Where: The front desk Gateway Inn is in Bldg 459, near the Bird In Hand exit gate, within walking distance of the Commissary, BX, Galaxy Club, and the Northside Fitness Center. The Gateway Inn offers a business center, maps of the local area, and convenient purchase of snacks, souvenirs, soft drinks, etc.

NOTE: Delayed flight or problem arriving to the base? You must call the Gateway Inn if you are unable to check in on time, otherwise your room will be released.
Everyone must first try to secure lodging on-base. If there are no vacancies, you will be required to obtain a statement of non-availability prior to obtaining off-base lodging or risk not being eligible for temporary lodging allowance (TLA) reimbursement! Gateway Inn can provide assistance to help secure lodging.
