RAF Mildenhall has established priorities for child care based on DoD requirements.

  • Priority 1: Child Development Center (CDC) and School Age Program (SAP) employees, Single & Dual Military Families (military married to military) and Reservists on active duty (with a family status Single Parent/Dual Military)
  • Priority 2: Single and Dual Military or Command Sponsored DoD Civilians with a full-time non-military working spouse (working 20 hours per week or is a full-time student)
  • Priority 3: Families with an unemployed spouse

Dependent children, 6 weeks old to 12 years of age, of active duty personnel, DoD civilian personnel, reservists on active duty or during inactive duty training, DoD contractors and Coast Guard personnel assigned to or living on the installation, are eligible to use the Child and Youth Program services.

The Air Force Aid Society is supporting Air Force and Space Force families with child care
assistance during the Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move process.
Eligibility: All Active-duty Air Force and Space Force members must apply within 60 days
of arrival or departure. Air National Guard and Reserve members activated under Title 10,
USC for more than 15 days with a PCS order can also apply.
Program Benefits: Financial assistance offered for child care for children up to age 12 (not to
exceed $1,000 per household). Provider flexibility, funds can be used for child care options.

Documents required include:
– PCS Order (eligible children must be listed on the PCS order and must be moving to the
PCS location with the sponsor).
– Certification Form included in the application process.
– Military ID

RAF Mildenhall operates a Child Development Center which is DoD certified, offering quality & early childhood programming for your children, and specializing in learning through play. Enrollment is available on a priority basis for children 6 weeks to 5 years old.
